On April 19, 2025, amid the spring breeze along the Huangpu River, a landmark event—"Breaking Barriers, Embracing the Future: The 2025 Global Breakthrough Path for Shaoyang Entrepreneurs"—the Sixth First Member Congress and Leadership Transition Meeting of the Shanghai Hunan Shaoyang Chamber of Commerce was grandly held in Shanghai. Government leaders from Shanghai and Shaoyang, along with other government officials, attended the event. Steven Xie, Chairman of Hongji Group, was re-elected as President for the new term.

At the Shaoyang Entrepreneurs Forum, Long Yongtu, China's former Chief WTO Negotiator and former Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia, delivered a keynote speech titled "Opportunities and Challenges for Chinese Enterprises Going Global," which served as a powerful morale booster for Shaoyang entrepreneurs venturing into overseas markets.
Long Yongtu emphasized that in the face of global political, market, and technological rivalries, technology is the sharpest tool for breaking barriers. Technological forces are reshaping the landscape of globalization, and Chinese enterprises must adopt institutional openness to overcome obstacles and strategize with a long-term vision. Long Yongtu expressed his hopes for Shaoyang entrepreneurs: to contribute to Shanghai by connecting with international hubs; to contribute to their hometown by supporting industrial upgrading in Hunan; and to contribute to national strategies by becoming pioneers of Globalization 2.0.

At the conference, Mr. Jesus Seade, Mexican Ambassador to China, and Mr. Miguel Angel Isidro, Mexican Consul General in Shanghai, delivered video speeches. In their addresses, they highlighted the importance of collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce and business leaders like Steven Xie to deepen economic ties between China and Mexico. They noted that Mexico is an ideal production and operational base for Chinese enterprises overseas, and the success of Hongji Group's two factories in Mexico serves as a prime example. They warmly invited other business leaders to follow suit, assuring that the Mexican Embassy and Consulates would fully support bridging key institutions between the two countries to enhance exchanges and cooperation, fostering public-private synergy for socio-economic progress.
